This is a great introduction to sleep-away camp! Most campers joining Taste of Camp are new to Tawonga, and many are new to overnight camp. Our counselors are prepared to support campers and ensure they have a positive first experience away from home.
Campers participate in traditional camp activities with their bunkmates and counselors. Activities include arts and crafts, cooking in the garden, swimming, campfires, boating, archery, s’mores, and more. Schedules are set for each bunk to ensure that campers have an opportunity to rotate through our most popular program areas.

Session 2
Dates
June 14 – July 3, 2026

Sessions 2, 2a, 3, 3a and 4 feature all of Tawonga’s classic camp activities, Shabbat celebrations, 1-2 night backpacking trips (or camping trips for the youngest campers), optional day hikes, a day on the adventure challenge course, elective activities, and campfires. Campers get the perfect blend of fun, friendship, and growing independence. During these sessions, campers build a deep connection to community, nature and Judaism within a warm, welcoming, and inclusive environment.
An all-gender cabin will be offered during Session 2 for rising 7th and 8th graders. Learn more.

These longer sessions maximize safety by minimizing camper population turnover and offer campers a chance to build a deep connection to community, nature and Judaism within a warm, welcoming and inclusive environment.
